-Jing Meng

Researcher has taken long time to find out the problem of linguistics in Language teaching and the relationship between them. This article shows the implication of linguistic theories on the practice of language teaching relating of some linguists' theories. Language is an inherently complex system. The Linguist is a person who study about linguistics and try to identify the elements or aspect in order to analyze the language which is divided as  four aspects: sound system (phonetics), grammatical system (phonology), lexical system and discourse system.

These aspects should be involved in teaching theory because the aspects constitute a whole picture in Language. In short, language should be regarded as a synthesis in our practice, so a satisfactory language teaching theory should consider the language both as isolated features and as a synthesis. According to the writer, linguistics and language teaching are interactional with each other or a dual one. Some of linguists can be applied to language teaching, otherwise, a language teaching theory expresses or implies answer to questions about the nature of language.
